Residential Care

Service

Arborvitae residential care offers placements for young people in a nurturing environment, identifying as any gender aged 8-17.

We specialise in supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), including those presenting with disorganised attachment, emotional dysregulation, developmental trauma, and/or post-traumatic stress.

Our specialised recovery programs address child sexual exploitation (CSE), child criminal exploitation (CCE), as well as chronic and acute trauma.

We offer compassionate and supportive care for LGBTQ+ children and young people.

However, our ability to address emotional and behavioral disorders (EBD) is limited, as we do not have in-house mental health services. In addition to our trauma-informed and therapeutic approach, we collaborate with a network of external professionals to provide support for the children and young people at Arborvitae.

Our admission process is thorough, and while we may accept emergency placements, these decisions are made solely at the discretion of management. Typically, placements are based on a detailed referral impact risk assessment, which evaluates the needs of the prospective young person in relation to our capabilities and the needs of the young people already living at Arborvitae.

Our distinctive program employs a trauma-informed model, ensuring that all staff receive extensive training and are committed to continuously enhancing their practices to meet the needs of those in our care.
