Crisis Emergency Respite

Service

Arborvitae Care offer short-term and long-term placements to young people in need of immediate accommodation due to family, and or placement breakdown.

All staff are trained in the Restraint Reduction Network (RRN) and are trauma-informed practitioners, equipping them to support young people in their new environment.

We tailor the environment to each young person’s preferences and needs, such as their favourite foods and TV shows, to facilitate a smooth transition upon their arrival.

Transitions for each young person is handled as sympathetically as possible where we will endeavour to involve the young person where this is acceptable to do so.

We endeavour to provide a calming, low stimulus arrival at placement to make the transition as smooth as possible for the young person.

We tailor individual care plans to include a varied portfolio of both leisure and informative activities to prepare each young person with the skills required to move into a longer-term residential placement. This ultimately enhances each young person’s understanding of what is important when living with others, and how also to positively contribute to the communities in which they live via responsibly accessing local amenities made available to them with staff support and guidance.
