Claire Moore

HR, Legal and Compliance Director, Co- Owner and part of the Management Team at Arborvitae Care Services.  Responsible for a multitude of things including all HR, Legal, Business and Financial matters.  You will often see me troubleshooting throughout the departments and the business as a whole.  The antiquated methods employed by numerous companies in the Children’s Services Sector left me feeling uninspired about their commitment to supporting each young person which ultimately motivated me to embark on a business journey alongside Dave Wood, resulting in the establishment of Arborvitae Care Services.
I am continually striving to do or offer something different as a business and believe we enhance and have established a new and improved standard of support for young individuals in care. This philosophy is fully aligned with the ongoing reform initiated by Ofsted.  I am passionate that Arborvitae Care are not only dedicated to providing care and protection for looked after children in the UK; we are also deeply committed to our core belief that ‘every child matters’ and our motto, Dum vita est, spes est.

Steve

My name is Steve, and I am the Director of Children’s Crisis and Activity Services. I am deeply child-centred and have a passion for caring for children in our programs, with years of experience in this sector.
In my role, I oversee all aspects of our crisis services. I ensure that our support workers and the homes they work in have the resources and tools they need to keep the children in our care safe and secure.
Additionally, I manage the budgets for these programs and am responsible for introducing new and exciting activities for the children to enjoy.
I manage and work closely with Richard our Registered Service Manager, as well as Cat, our Senior Team Leader and together we manage a 4 strong team of Team Leader’s and approx. 50 amazing support workers.

Georgiana

As an Accounts and HR Assistant, my primary responsibilities are to support the human resources team while also broadening my finance knowledge. I assist with recruitment tasks such as conducting interviews and managing candidate records. Additionally, I handle employee files, prepare onboarding materials, and ensure compliance with HR policies and the Law.
By working closely with highly skilled professionals in HR, finance, and management, I’m able to learn from their expertise, gain valuable insights, and develop my own abilities. This exposure motivates me to pursue my own professional goals while contributing to the growth of the organisation, particularly as I focus on expanding my finance knowledge and skills.

Andy

The registered manager Andrew Hobson has over 20 years’ experience in all areas of residential care and has many years’ experiences as a registered manager and a service manager being an RI. Andy holds level 5 in leadership and management. He is accountable for the home running as intended and has oversight from his deputy managers to ensure staff are all working from the same page.

Andy’s vast experience in all aspects of residential care ensures that the level of care that we are providing is some of the best in the country this alongside Andy’s attention to detail means that our young people have the quality of live that they deserve.

Andy also ensures that when a young person leaves our service they leave with opportunities and a purpose in their lives.

Richard

As the Service Manager at Arborvitae Care, I work directly with children and young people across the organisation’s various service areas, including Crisis, Respite, Activity, and the soon-to-launch Post-16 Semi-Independent programs. With many years of experience in the Youth Service, I have collaborated extensively with the Youth Offending Team, Connexions Services, and both statutory and voluntary sectors. This has contributed to my lengthy career in the Health and Social Care sector.
In my current role, I ensure the crisis provisions are properly staffed, that employees feel supported, and that the children receive high-quality care and assistance, and I am one of the company’s designated safeguarding officers. When the new Post-16 Semi-Independent provision opens, I will be responsible for obtaining the Ofsted registration.
In my previous roles as a Residential Care Manager, I supported individuals with a variety of neurological conditions, including epilepsy and autism. One of my proudest achievements was overseeing a Flat Scheme that assisted young people transitioning out of the care system. In this capacity, I helped the young residents adjust to living independently and advised local authorities on whether each individual would be better suited for long-term independent housing or a more supported living environment after the placement ended.
As a highly motivated, committed, and forward-thinking Registered Manager, I have overseen home care services across the Manchester South, Stockport, and Trafford regions, earning ‘Good’ ratings from the Care Quality Commission in all areas. I have also served as a designated Safeguarding Lead and was previously a member of the Stockport Safeguarding Adults Board.

Oliver

My goal is to ensure employees continuously learn new skills, improve existing ones, and stay up to date with industry standards. This contributes to both individual career growth and overall organisational improvement.
As a team leader, I guide and manage the staff, helping them achieve goals and complete projects efficiently. I serve as the bridge between team managers and upper management, ensuring smooth communication and aligning everyone with Arborvitae’s objectives.
I am committed to my own continuous professional development and welcome feedback to improve my performance. I dedicate 100% effort to any task or project assigned to me. Additionally, I am devoted to boosting team morale and helping employees at Arborvitae learn, grow, and develop within their roles.

Dave

As the Co-Owner and Logistics and Operations Director of Arborvitae Care Services, I oversee all operational aspects of the business. This includes managing transportation, maintenance, residential provisions and the head office facility. In addition, I am a qualified NEBOSH Health & Safety advisor, responsible for ensuring full compliance with all relevant regulations. I take pride in keeping the organisation running smoothly and efficiently.

As a former Royal Engineer, I have extensive military experience. Since transitioning to the private sector, I have successfully launched and managed several businesses both domestically and internationally. With years of managerial experience under my belt, I pride myself on being a fair and principled leader. My management philosophy is to never ask my team to do anything I wouldn’t be willing to do myself – respect, in my view, must be earned through leading by example. My strong, unwavering work ethic drives me to have high standards for those I work with. The fantastic team we’ve built here is always willing to go the extra mile, and these are the kind of dedicated, hardworking people I choose to surround myself with.
The true reward of this work is knowing we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of underprivileged youth in the care system – that is what I love most about this business.
